Online mentoring
A one-off session, or a series of online conversations, about your creative work - designed to help you focus on a specific project, forge a new direction, or build confidence in what you're already doing. Whether you're a student developing a portfolio, a hobbyist wanting to make more of your practice, or an early-career artist looking for regular feedback and support.
Throughout our conversations we can explore what's getting in the way of achieving your goals - in materials, technique, subject matter, or simply in showing up to make things at all. Sessions can be led entirely by you and your work (or the absence of it), or you can leave me to ask the soul-searching questions needed to get you back on track.
I work with people at various stages of their creative journey, from hobbyists to early-mid career illustrators and artists, covering a range of topics including:
How to build and sustain a creative habit
Growing confidence in what you do well - and learning to trust it
Finding your own way of working: developing a voice that feels authentically yours
Letting go of self-criticism and perfectionism to make more freely
How to observe, respond to and draw from the world around you - place, material, experience
Developing a portfolio or body of work with a clear direction
Sessions are online via Google Meet and last an hour. I'm happy to meet as frequently as every fortnight, or with longer spaces in between - up to three months apart. Different time zones can be accommodated.
If you've gone creatively awry and want to connect for a reset, drop me an email outlining where you're at with your work and what you think you'd like to gain from our conversations.
Cost: £150 for 1 hour or £500 for 4x 1 hour sessions
“Laura is a deeply inspiring artist and mentor. Not only is she incredibly patient and kind, but she is a wealth of wisdom and insight. Whenever I felt creatively stuck, she always had great ideas to help me breakthrough.”

“Laura has been the most amazing mentor! I'm at the start of my illustration career and was really struggling with creative confidence and finding my place before starting our mentorship. I can't tell you how much difference it made having time with Laura. I always leave a session with clear focus points on what to do next, finding clarity when before there was none.”
Jenny, UK - 2024
“Laura’s mentoring supported me in creating a weekly practice and developing a personal project. Through thoughtful questions, attentive listening, and encouraging guidance, she helped me find focus and build a sustainable routine. I truly appreciate her ability to recognize the unique strengths of her students, helping them uncover their talents and individual artistic style. The project that emerged from this mentoring process became a meaningful milestone in my creative journey and brought me great joy. I'm now even preparing to present the results in an upcoming exhibition.”
Anja, Germany - 2024
“Laura has been a really helpful mentor for me. She is very good at listening and drilling down into where I am getting stuck with my approach or mindset, in relation to art making. I always come away from the sessions feeling very encouraged and with a clear sense of direction. She is full of knowledge and expertise, which she shares readily and generously.”
Penny, UK - 2025
