Schools & Outreach

I’m driven by improving access to the arts and improving creativity in schools and other settings including healthcare, museums, galleries and urban spaces. Workshops exploring charcoal, expressive painting, nature and art and a whole range of playful drawing, painting and 3D sculpture activities can be adapted for all age groups, including school leavers. Whatever the setting, my teaching has a focus on process, exploration and building creative independence - rather than a ‘step-by-step’, outcome-led approach.

Previous collaborations include AccessArt, the Affordable Art Fair, Breathe Arts Health Research, Forty Hall Farmers’ Market, North London Hospice, London Irish Centre, Central Saint Martins UAL and various Primary Schools and Early Years settings across the UK.

I am also occasionally available for online video calls with school groups (for free) to answer questions about my work and speak to children about their own art as part of the AccessArt Gestural Drawing with Charcoal Talking Point.

Direct experience of working with children with SEND, in and out of school settings. Safeguarding trained and DBS checked (children and adults).

Please get in touch to discuss your needs. Workshops can be tailored to suit a variety of settings.

“Thank you for sparing your time and being so encouraging and warm towards the children. They were so excited throughout the whole process - from drawing in charcoal, then getting to show 'a real artist' their drawings and getting the opportunity to ask you questions too. There was lots of positive chatter amongst them afterwards and it was a great experience for them all.”

“Laura's artistic abilities are nothing short of extraordinary. Her creativity knows no bounds, and she has a unique ability to bring ideas to life through her art. Her passion for art is evident in every piece she creates, and she has an innate ability to connect with others through her visual storytelling. Her talent, dependability, warmth, and generosity make her an asset to any community or project.”
